Michigan Families for Economic Prosperity: Congressman Fred Upton Failed Test on Health Care
Upton’s vote to repeal health care, gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions not in line with values of his district
KALAMAZOO — Michigan Families for Economic Prosperity released the following statement on Congressman Fred Upton’s recent statements that he has worked across the aisle to improve health care. The statement can be attributed to Hugh Madden, communications director of Progress Michigan and member of Michigan Families for Economic Prosperity.
“Congressman Upton has two different positions on health care. When he’s in Washington, Upton works behind the scenes to repeal health care and strip protections for people with pre-existing conditions. This is the same Fred Upton who votes with Donald Trump nearly 100 percent of the time. However, Upton seems to forget who he really is when he comes to Southwest Michigan. Upton’s campaign is trying to get away with lying about his record and pretending he’s the same old Fred Upton. The reality is that Upton has changed and no longer represents the values of the people of the district.”
